Through our partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network, all-in-one care “bundles” for elective hip or knee replacement surgery are now available to Berks Health Trust members who meet St. Luke’s guidelines for surgery. By using St. Luke’s Episodes of Care program, members are not responsible for co-payments and co-insurance related to the surgery and associated physical therapy.
You can choose to have your surgery at St. Luke’s Orthopedic Hospital – West End Campus in West Allentown or at St. Luke’s Upper Bucks Campus in Quakertown. Physical therapy can be performed at any Physical Therapy at St. Luke’s location.

Important Information regarding your Prescription Coverage
Effective September 1, 2024, Capital Blue Cross will be the administrator of your prescription drug benefits as we shift away from Express Scripts, the current administrator. You should have received your new ID card and welcome letter from Capital Blue Cross by now. (If you have not received your new card, you may contact Capital Blue Cross for a replacement card or contact your benefits department in your school district so that they may request one for you.) We wanted to take this opportunity to provide some additional clarity surrounding Capital Blue Cross’ mail delivery options that leverage our existing pharmacies, Express Scripts Pharmacy (home delivery pharmacy) and Accredo (specialty pharmacy).
Through Capital Blue Cross, you will continue to have the ability to receive a 90-day supply of your maintenance medications delivered to your home the same way that you do today. That is because Capital Blue Cross also uses the Express Scripts Pharmacy for their home delivery program. If you are currently filling prescriptions with Express Scripts Pharmacy and have refills available, you can continue to receive your prescriptions through Express Scripts. Since it is the same experience as it is today, you will use your existing login to access your account. While all open scripts will be carried over, your payment information cannot be. As a result, you will need to login to your account to update your payment information for refills after September 1st.
As a reminder, home delivery is not the only method of obtaining a 90-day supply. You will also have access to a 90-day supply through Capital Blue Cross’ Extended Supply Network. The Extended Supply Network includes pharmacies authorized to dispense prescription drugs for up to a 90-day supply. Most major retail chain and grocery store pharmacies are part of this network. Currently (through Express Scripts) you are limited to receiving a 90-day supply through a local CVS pharmacy. Capital Blue Cross’ Extended Supply Network provides our members with additional pharmacies. To locate pharmacies within the Extended Supply Network, you can log in to your Capital Blue Cross secure account via their website or mobile app or call the Member Services number on your ID card.
Capital Blue Cross also uses Accredo to fill specialty drugs. Accredo is our current specialty pharmacy so the member experience will remain the same under Capital Blue Cross.Similar to the home delivery option mentioned above, if you are currently filling prescriptions with Accredo and have refills available, you will also need to update your payment information using your existing login.
